As the NFL draft is approaching I am, coincidentally, also
looking to fill one of the most critical positions in our Abuja hotel. I am
looking to make a new hire and I couldn’t help but feel some sympathy for those
NFL and other professional teams that
have to scour through hundred of players to decided which to pick/draft.

While these professional teams posses considerably more
resources and personnel to vet potential candidates than we do, the sentiment
is still the same. A senior decision maker is looking to select someone who can propel his/her team to greatness!

The decision maker(s) need to analyze personality traits,
past records to forecast future performance etc. Once they’ve done this they
may narrow down the field, but they are faced with another conundrum; Do they
take based on need or based on talent.

For instance your team maybe in dire need of running back,
however there is another player available that players a different position
who is a sure bet to be a superstar. You
would be a fool to pass up a superstar, but you would be equally foolish not to
adequately fill a position you need. Decisions, decisions, decisions…

Believe it or not white collar employers face similar
challenges. Do you hire the best/most talented available guy or the guy that you think will settle in
best, adopt your company ethos, and be with you for the long term?

Mr. Faruk, It is all starts at hiring, hiring a special person who can lead and deliver results, the task here is to hire a great head coach, and not a player, a person that can lead by example, has long term vision for the young company, a person that can make the right call for the team and there for them right there to guide them and can help an ownership that understand "the math" just like you explained, this will be the answer looking for the talented person to fit your need..I wish you all the very best on your selection..Sincerely, a future applicant for the position. M.A. New York
Its a crucial position that demands a lot. You are very right in saying the person needs to be a great coach because everyone takes a cue from him.
PS- You mentioned future applicant, why not current applicant?
